Checkout this ebay auction for 2 Porsche Carrera (4 cam) NOS distributor caps. The Type 547 engine has dual distributors, so 2 are needed.

Starting price is $550.00

Looks like no one wanted them. I'll bet that $550 is chump change to anyone running a type 547, though.

4 cylinder, dual plug.

If your able to afford to own a 4-Cam Carrera motor, $550 for distributors caps would be no worries to you. A 4-cam Carrera motor that requires rebuilding starts out at $75k alone.

Hey, I could peel the 12 volt sticker off the doorjam of my 69 bug and sell it on Evilbay as that 4 cammer fanshroud sticker........should be worth $150! :lol:

Holy Shat Batman! Pass me the Grey Poupon! A freakin' distributor thats worth more than what I bought my first 356 for! How many cars that require this kind of distributor are still in existance? And the real question is, how much would the whole motor sell for?

Check out the Mar or Apr issue of Excellence for a great article on these engines. The $$ for one of the roller cranks alone would build a nice garage. :shock:
