| What is going on over in Germany? Took a sweet ol' '53, filled in the semaphores, wide fiberglass rear fenders, welded in godawful door brackets, drilled holes in every outer piece, and shaved all the trim. Overall the car looks cool, the brake and motor setup is intense, especially since they said they're doing 130 mph on the Autobahn. But couldn't they do all that to something that is less rare/collectible? |

I agree with you. Although some could argue that if you took the car as it is now and you spend enough $$$ and time you could reverse what they did.
I would have used a super beetle to do a german look car. |

| I agree as well! Anything pre 55 needs to be brought back to life-vintage style! It's just too much of a rare piece of VW history. Maybe if too far gone to save, use as a parts car to save other beetles |

While I cringe at 55 and earlier cars being hacked on for "drag/race purposes" I do appreciat and am consequently building a 55 3 fold cal-look car with 4.5s and all. As long as its done tastefully I'm alright with it. |

I love these rules that people make up. What is it now, its only acceptable to modify a car that is a 68 and up that was originally orange and is currently in 1000 feet of water being used by sea turtles as a clubhouse? cool . just making sure i understand. well yeah... glad we're on the same page  |
