Got my baja kit on this last weekend, got the hood looking great lining up with the lines on the body and the front piece(i have the 7 piece kit) lining up just right, but then i put on the front fenders......now I have a gap between the front fenders and the front piece that is about 1/2 to 3/4 inch
wide...WTF? I winged it becouse the company didnt feel the need to send me directions(even after three phone calls) but I read the section in the book baja bugs and buggies so I had a good idea what I was doing and it as going well right up till I mounted the front fenders, did I miss something about the front end? I am sure I did everyting right untill I saw that gap, now what? Does everyone have that gap? Is it just me? If you have used the 7 piece kit and have had simular trouble please help!

P.S. I do not want to hear from anyone who went with the one piece front end telling me how they are the way to go......just keep it to yourself, thanks buddy.

i have the stuff that goes between the fiberglass fender and the car, thats not where the gap is though. my gap is at the end of the front fender, inside edge where it should meet up with the front piece(bug eye)i was thinking the only way to fix it would be to totate the fender back(counterclock wise)untill the offending fender lined up in front with the joint of hood/top of front piece and see if it might come together better... the problem with that is that the rear of the fender would be poking down below the bottom of the car soo low i would have to trim it off and the tops of the fenders would be cocked back at a funny angle, it would just plain look funny i am sure........damn kits!

Didnt the fenders have little dimples on them so you know where to drill the holes? Mine did. I would just set the headlights mount the hood and rotate the fenders until they look good. Gaps arent all that big of a deal.

yeah there were dimples but they didnt match up, they are only like two inches off and if i used them it would rotate the fender back till the rear of the fender was hanging way too low below the bottom of the pan. i think i have a way to solve it though, i have been doing a lot of looking and i think i can push in the sides of the front clip where the last bolt on the fender(front of fender) lines up and draw it close that way, get it good enough anyway.....there will be a gap but not too bad i guess
