I want to express my appreciation to Mr. John Holland of Hillsborough, NC. He had a couple of items he gave me for frree to be able to complete the interior of my 1970 Beetle.
This does not happen as a norm outside of the aircoole vw community. Once again thanks John. |

| I am going to hijack this thread to thank somebody named James, who sent me free of charge, the complete instructions to a z-bed kit for my '71 bus. He was selling a new kit on the Samba, all I needed was the instructions and he was gracious enough to make a xerox copy for me, he refused to accept money for postage or anything. |

| Most 'dubbers I've met are cool that way, especially among fellow Sambanistas. |

Well, so long as we're at it -- George (tramandbixrule) sent me a voltage regulator last week, free of charge, with lots of good energy thrown in to boot.
My car is running now -- and I was close to giving up on it -- before his generous offer and encouragement. |

| My first Bug was a gift from one of my neighbors, and my Ghia vert was given to me for a deal so cheap, I couldn't tell anyone. That's love. |

I would love to, however I was hit twice in a 12 day period. The first person hit me on the right rear and had no insurance. I went ahead and fixed it at a cost of over $500. Then while the car is parked at work it gets hit again on the drvers door, quarter panel, and right rear fender. The estimate is over $1,350
Needless to say I missed a show in Fort Lauderdale and now I am going to miss the Florida Bug Jam. All is not bad, today I received a check from the first person to hit me. I hope it is cashed by their bank tomorrow. For the second incident they had insurance and I should know tomorrow when I get the check (it was adjusted Wednesday).
Once the repair is done I will post pics. I am trying to stay happy otherwise I would be really pissed off.
Thanks. |
