| Is it doing that gradually or was it like that when you got it? If so, somebody probably at one time changed the master cylinder and didnt put those sleeve spacers back until much later after realizing they are there for that reason. |

Yeah what Skim said.
The wall thickness of the two peices of metal where the master cylinder goes through ain't much, and it those crush sleeves weren't in there for a while, the constant tweeking of the metal when applying the brakes could have weakened the metal, so that it will happen now, even with the crush sleeves in place |

When the body was off the pan. I had a friend bend new lines, and put
the cylinder in!! This was a few years ago.I just got the car on the road
a few months ago. And just noticed last week when i was puting the carpet and mats in. I asked my friend why? And he didnt know or have any idea? Should i bend it back and put a plate on the bolt
to reinforce it! It sounds kind of like a getto way to fix it. But its the only thing i can think of. |

| I had this problem on a 67 I am in the process of fixing up. I used a hammer and a body spoon to carefully work the area back to where it should be. It was missing both spacers. I have only driven the car a few times since, and haven't noticed it bending or flexing anymore yet. |
