will ribbed doors fit on a 56 bug? i know the door striker is diffrent but size wise will it fit? i like the look a lot more and want to put them on my 56

The outside perimeter shape has never changed. All doors will fit all cars except for the striker and check strap.

you got to remember that if you have ribbed doors on, then the rear interior panel area will look odd, as that area isnt ribbed. Just something to think about.

that area is usually covered with upholstery though, is it not?

All door sizes are approximately the same from 1938-64. Then VW changed to larger windows & slim B-posts in 1965.

On sedan & sunroof models, the rear interior qtr panels were never ribbed. Only Pre '55 convertibles had the interior ribs on their inner qtr panel
