| i dont know much about buses but i know about off road, gusset everything you can get to! dosent matter if it is a ford, chevy, baja or bus if you have the time, welder and the inclination spend a few hours looking around at everything that will take stress and throw some extra steel in there to make it stronger. remember; you are about to do things with this vehicle that it was never designed for. strengthen everything! that and wear your crash helmet.....lol |

Here's a site that might be useful to you.

It's all about baja busses.

| I had a 72 bus that I did a moderate baja job on. It was cool to look at, but seriously underpowered. It wouldn't climb much. Baja bug's main climbing abilities are due to light weight, speed and rear wheel traction. The bus is a brick, slow, but has that rear wheel traction. It made moving the family around fun, if it was done on the moderate hills and flat dirt roads. I ended up selling it and will get a baja bug someday. |
