I'm building my first fiberglass buggy, and I have a question about mounting a remote oil cooler. I was planning to mount the cooler in the front , under a hood scoop, and run hard lines back threw the tunnel . I mentioned this to the owner of the local bone yard, and he said it was a bad idea. I figured that doing this would be an easy way to increase oil volume, and if I put it under a hood scoop, it would get plenty of air flow. What would be the pros/cons of this?
Thanks

| You dont want the oil lines to long or you might have really low pressure and you would have to use much more oil than necessary and you dont want to over cool, I had that problem and had to switch to a smaller cooler. Just mount the cooler and/or filter in the back my the engine and that would be good. I have mine mounted on the fiberglass rear cowling with a filter and its been working good for several years. |

| Is a remote oil cooler in a glass buggy necessary? |
