Shortly, we will start body and paint on our 66 Type 1. I was concerned about using windshield wiper fluid on new paint.

Your opinions would be greatly appreciated!

as long as your paints cured long enough before you start welcoming it to the elements you should be cool. plus when its hardened, give it a oat of wax so it takes the brunt of things before your paint does

I would only use water for the first 60 to 90 days following your repaint. Good luck and post pictures.

Better yet, if I may make a suggestion..use distilled water (no chemicals in it, like chlorine). If that dries on your paint it can etch in. Just make sure you are not in an area that is prone to freezing. I that Case I would just wait.

If you allow tap water to sit for 24 hours in a bucket the chlorine will evaporate, it would be cheaper that distilled water. However make sure you cover the bucket and do not let it sit to long. Otherwise you will be farming mosquitoes.
