I have replaced everything on my front end and need some help getting the alignment close to being correct so that I can get it to a shop to have it professionally done. Can anyone help me with instructions on how to get it close? The Baja is a 65 with a Link-Pin front and Swing Axle rear.
Thanks,
Bob |

are you talking steering alignment? or camber adjustment on the link pins?
steering alignment can be done close enough like so:
take a tape measure and measure the distance between a point on the center-middle of the tread on both sides (left and right) on the front. then measure the same thing on the back of the tires. adjust the tie rods until the front measures about 1/8" less than the rear
points to measure from:
(view from the side) -->O
(view from the top)

if you cant understand that, i apologize and suggest you get a manual |

HBB,
Front End Alignment help is what I need. Camber was set as per my manual but they said take it to a shop for the alignment. Do I need to have the tires on the ground or can the bug be on jack stands? Which tie rod should I focus on for the best adjustment - driver or passenger side? Last night it looked like I was about 3" off - / \. It looked pretty even when eyeballed. Hmmmmm?
Thanks as always. |

| ive aligned all my cars myself. i usually adjust them both evenly. a few turns on this rod, a few turns on that rod, back and forth until its correct. and its a haynes manual, isnt it? the muir book tells you how to do the alignment yourself |

| make sure your steering box is centered before adjusting tie rod ends. |
