THats me with the throwout shaft damage after the throwout bearing disintegrated, resulting having to get throwout shaft from a local (yeah, right!?) vw shop in Santa Rosa- took us 8 hours of waiting time getting parts to finally fix all items in less than one hour (replace throwout shaft, bearing, clutch/ pressure plate and install motor).

We decided to throw in the towel when it got too dark to continue the trip, already lost valuable time and decided we will be more prepared to attack the next time! THANKS to Cory of Team YeoPanel for the clutch/pressure plate and throw out bearing (who?). Hopefully the rear wheel cylinder were of use.

Shaggy Riveria had wiring issues lost its lights and 56 Panel had busted header, leaked exhaust but nothing major compared to mine.

NEW BACK UP PART TO ADD ON LIST: Throw out shaft (check!)

At the time of the call, Greg did not tell me, so I do not know which team it was.

Glad to hear you were able to get it repaired, even if it took so long. That is one of those parts that does not fail, so you wouldn't think to bring an extra one.

The Bus was Aaron & Emily. They were all ok, except for 1 bump on the head for Aaron. The Bus recieved some quick bodywork & a cleanout of the cylinders at the hotel. They will be driving it home.

Hey all,

Team Green Truck made it home to Oregon, with no problems! We had a great time this year, it was a good run. We did some deep river crossing this year, pushed the limits of my old girl. Saw some pretty crazy sights, like Greg's bus in a ditch, Aaron and Emily's bus on its side, and my bus up to its windshield in water. Had a great time reconnecting with some old friends and making some new ones too. Thank you to all who put this thing on every year.

Aaron and Em checking in. We are home. Mechanically sound trip home (a few new wind whistles but not bad considering). We are totally fine the bus is a bit scraped and a little bent but really all is good.

The road to castle lake was not impassable if you had chains, but we just decided to not put on chains and head back down. Hit a slick patch spun out and would have been fine but the snow plow had been by recently and our tires slid across snow/ice then hit asphalt. Once the tires caught it just flipped us. Would love to see pictures as our camera was in the mess of stuff in our bus and I didn't get it out before climbing out.

Thanks to everyone who pulled together to help us out. This is truly an amazing community of people!

Team Rasta reporting, we made it home safe and feeling great.This trip was the most memorable,fun,and exciting trip we have been on ,and we are grateful to have been a part of it. Mari and I are happy to be reunited with new and old VW family members. We were a very powerful force in a group that size and it felt great. Much love to all of you guys. Thanks for making us feel so welcome and supported! You guys are what VW Familia is all about!!!!! Next year we are coming more prepared for the adventure!!!! SST 2011 is going to be the BOMB!!!!!

I believe 33 or 35 started. Can't recall which. Most of them made it, too! I think at one point we had probably 25 buses all sticking together in one big group.

It also made gas stops about an hour long! LOL But then, we also seriously helped local economies. :D

As for pix, my co-pilot shot nearly 700 images. I don't think he'll be upset if I post the link to his Photobucket folder.

Awsome pics!! I'll buy the redbull for anyone who posts those pics on this thread. All that clickin' and lil pics is tough on these ole eyes and digits.
