I just bought new lower A-pillar sheet metal for the 56 I'm restoring. I found it interesting that it has the external shell, the internal piece, and the bracket for the door hinge screws. Nice piece, except it only has a hole for one of the two inner most screws. :roll: Kind of funny to see a bracket for four screws and one three holes for screws. :D
I've heard VW replacement parts are questionable, but this is just too funny. I'm sure you've all heard it before.
Looks like I'll have to cut the one remaining hole out of the old piece and weld it into place. Oh well. Just another day at the office. :lol: |

Mark I just replaced that area on a 59 I'm currantly restoring and bought the pieces from Hooky's in England. there not exact fit but alot better then anything else.

Just drill a hole and punch in with something round. I would have got better results if I used something at the back like a piece of wood with a hole in it.
