Here is a question that I can't seem to find an answer for in any of my literature or by talking with friends in the hobby.
My buddy has a May 53 Oval but when he bought it (had been sitting in a field for 20+ years) it has a zwitter speedo in it with the two little seperated arrows at the bottom for the semiphores. The date stamped on the back says 2-53. I have told him that that speedo is for zwitters only as I have seens ones posted for sale for mid-late 53 showing the combinded arrow instead.
This speedo is more correct for my march 53 zwitter but he won't part with it until he knows which one is correct.
This is a tough one! Hardcore vintage guys might know this one.
Any help?

It is a May 53 car and it has a Feb 53 Speedo in it, and this is a problem?

Is there any reason to think it's not the original unit the car left the factory with?
