hello,
i purchased one of those typical pre-fab, rear shock mount bumpers for my baja. i was looking at how to attach it, and it looked like i would have to bend the little tubes (that the bumper slides on to) to make them point straight out the rear.
now to the point. i would appreciate if anyone could post a pic/ link showing a close-up of the top rear shock mount for one of those type bumpers (installed)
thanks,

keith

will this help?

Yes you have to bend those tabs where you want them to be. I had to do a little rounding of some of the sharp coners on the bottom to get it to fit fairly decent too. I put the flanges pretty far back becuase someday I will tie my cage , which is mounts to the bottom of the package tray, into the rear bumper by running a bar across the underside of the tray and then to the bumper (before the flanges). Then I can run a couple of small cross braces down to the frame horns off of that. It should make for a pretty stout setup and I'll still be able to easily remove my cage to do motor work/repairs without having to do major dissasemly. But I'm the worlds biggest procrastinator :)

that was exactly what i was looking for! Now i was going to fit the fron baja bumper this weekend but had questions on if you us the top beam bolts or the bottoms. I took the bottoms out and tried to fit it but the sides of the bumper were hitting the arm on the suspension on each side. Do i just need to get longer bolts and space it out or is there another solution? If i used the top bolts i would have to cut some cutouts on the bottom of the front baja piece. I am finally gettingback to working on the baja since last fall. Mark

I'm pretty sure there all intended to fit off the bottom bolts. Maybe the bumper is a little out of whack? This "bolt-on" stuff fits like total shit, you usually have to persuade them to fit. I've mounted mine (single tube) and and a tilt forn style on a drag car and both of them needed to be tweaked but it was more like they needed to be pushed in to meet the tower area to weld the tabs on, yours sonds like it needs to be pulled out, way out.
