does anyone know how much(ballpark) a baja bug wieghs?

It all depends on how much you cut off and how much you add. But i would guess ballpark on a car with fuel cell and full cage is around 2000 pounds.Thats what my friends weighed in at. I still haven't done mine yet.

tire size can also change weight as well. Some bajas run smallish tires, while others run 33" If you are looking to check the weight of your vehicle, call around to Semi-Truck facilities as they have weigh scales you can use.

I weighed mine a couple years ago- - 2049lbs. That's with a full cage, big fuel tank, etc.

Any large-scale metal recycling place will have scales as well; they generally weigh the trucks on the way in & out, then pay(or charge) by the weight difference.
I was out for a summertime joyride in my Manx a couple of years back, and had the one place weigh it for me....not top, half a tank of fuel, and the scale said 1,320lbs. The top would probably have added 20-25 more, I reckon. When they were done, I asked the guy how much for the weigh-in; he said it was cooler than a crappy dump truck, so it was 'on the house.' 8)
