I just dropped and reinstalled the motor and came up a wire short when it came time to hook up the automatic choke. Where does that wire originate from? The motor starts and runs OK but I'm not sure it I got the coil hooked up right. Could someone also let me where the wires from the coil go just to ensure I got them right.

Tks

I believe that the choke gets its power from the pos. side of the coil.[/img]

There are two sides to the coil labeled +15 and -1. The +15 side gets the thicker black wire from the fuse block in the front of the car. Another thinner black wire with an inline fuse that comes off your reverse light switch located on the nose cone of the tranny (sometimes this wire is gone). There is then another black wire going to the carb and is split like a “Y” so it can connect both the choke and the shut-off valve on the left side of the carburetor.

The -1 side gets the green wire from the distributor condenser. This is also where you would hook up your tachometer if you have one.
