Don't sand and prime it... Leave it alone! If it were mine I would get it to roll to make it easier for the new buyer to get home.

Go to the gallery and it will tell you how to post pictures. If you would like you can email me the pictures and I will post them for you.

Just my two cents!

John Do not sand it. Put just a few bolts to hols the fenders and other parts on just so people can see what they are looking at and sell it to me.

Ditto on what they said. A car is easier to sell if you leave the exterior alone. Primer looks like you're hiding something. Bolt it back together so it doesnt look like a hardcore basket case and you should be ok.

You could save yourself sooo much trouble by giving it to me. I'll take the worry off your hands. Heck, give it to me.....i'll pay the shipping!

The buyer will probably want to restore the vehicle and they probably have ideas on the type primer/rust sealer/body work etc. I vote to leave it as is! I would make sure that the car can role and that all the parts are available for the new owner to put it back together. Price??? I bought my 55 Oval hard top in similar shape (Needs assembly and resto but very strait, running, orig paint, and NO body damage) for $2,800. For what it's worth :P

Man you got a sweet deal! I paid $4000 for my completely original never wrecked 55 3fold ragtop in 1999, I also found a 85% complete 54 ragtop project last year for $450 so I cant complain either way.

Keep it as is, original paint, even worn, is extremely valuable to certain vintage vw nuts. Put it back together as complete as you can, nothing has to function, just look good for a sale, so people know exactly what they have to work with. Plus it's kind of fun to piece them together! I got my 56' rag for $440 bucks and there's a nice 56 hard top on ebay that hasn't been selling on ebay for 1750$ here in WA. I've seen people practically give away complete cars that weren't assembled....running and all. it all depends on who see's it and what kind of cash they've got. it's a strange market.

On price its up to you and who is buying. If i was buying i would not spend more that 1500.00 but if someone is looking for themselfs and plan on keeping the car and all parts are there i would guess around 2500.00 Good luck.
