Hi
I've heard in the USA some beetles came as standard with a 3.88, like the 1303S in Britain, anyone know for sure?

| All US Bugs produced from 1973 had 3.88 ring & pinions. This is because all US Bugs were fitted with 48-50hp (DIN) engines, at that time. In the UK, 1200 (34hp), 1300 (44hp) and 1600 (50hp) engines were supplied, with the 3.88 only fitted to the 1600 models from 73. |
