This whole VW thing is pretty new to me. Are there paint and interior codes desigated in the VIN number or anywhere else? Thanks again.
I pick up my silver '79 tomorrow!

| The vin doesn't have anything to do with the vehicle color or interior. There should be a metal plate next to the hood latch with the paint code on it. It is painted the same color as the body is supposed to be. There is a site that you can find out what color it originally was if you have the code off the plate and it has interior color combinations also. I think it might be vintagebus.com but not sure. It has bug colors also. |

| I still have yet to see a convertible with that plate. if it hasn't been repainted the sticker might be on the inside passenger strut mount |

| I have a 71 SB Vert and can't find the place either. It has never been painted. Wish i could find it. I think mine is Iberian Red. |
