Anybody live in Brea, Ca. that is willing to go check out a '57 Beetle at TVR/Oldbugs.com?

Looking to buy, but would like to have someone take a first hand look.

If you're purchasing the car from Randy Carlson @ OldBug, you have nothing to worry about. He is a very honest & straight foward person to deal with. I purchased my 1956 european spec convertible from Magnus Wiksten with OldBug brokering the deal. I couldn't be more happier (well, a cheaper price would have been nice) with my purchase. Randy has an eye for detail and has no qualms telling you about any imperfections that the car may have.

Randy is a straight shooter-------you will always be told the truth and he backs his product. If you have a problem-----he'll help you get it right.

Ditto on what 53 said. I purchased a few items from Randy and was very happy. He is very honest and really knows his VWs.

Thank you to everyone that replied. The concensus is that buying from Randy is a no brainer. I'll let you know how it turns out.

If you are looking at the L-370, Nile Beige, 1955, 3-fold sunroof, I can tell you for a FACT that it is EXACTLY, PRECISELY, as Randy describes.

Thought you already sold that Dave?

Dave Thu Dec 09, 2004 7:47 am

Bob, I did sell it. Both the '55, and the 21 window, went to Randy- he has the time and talent and website to see to it that they both go to loving, new, owners. And it is my understanding that the 21 window already has a new owner. And, not to try and be a salesman here, as the car now belongs to Randy, and he can do whatever he wants with it, but at the price he is asking, for a documented, late '55, three-fold, 77,000 mile, original car with the original Title and Dealers Sales Invoice and license plate frame and engine and trans and blah blah blah, that's a damned good price.

Thanks for the props guys...it's nice to see that my reputation is good out there. I try my best.

Oh...and Dave...your 55 is now sold. Its off to a new owner in Reno Nevada...it will be shipping out early next week. (Great car by the way Dave...thanks a ton).

Ive got a couple hard bites on the 57 black sedan...I imagine it will sell quickly. Its a cool one...extremely virgin material. It belongs to a good friend and VW mechanic in the area, he's gone through it with a fine tooth comb...good car.
