| Is there a difference in ext door handles from 55 to 56...in other words from the euro cars to the 56/57's that are everywhere ??? |

| 1950-55 are different from 1956-59 exterior door handles. The earlier handles have a smooth face and use a "finger" to activate the interior latch mechanism. The later handles have a slight ridge that runs the entire length of the handle and uses a "paddle" to activate the latch mechanism. The earlier handle are more common due to the fact that Type 2s also use the handle up till '63 I believe. The main differnce being the key code |
