Have light blue smoke on start up. When engine warms up smoke dissapears. Pulled Plugs right after start up and they look wet-like the fuel is not being ignited. Ideas Please.

Well it definetly sounds like the car is running to rich. White smoke is rings and blue is fuel.
Carb might need to be rebuilt. |

| you have the smoke signals wrong!Blue smoke is oil getting past the rings;black or brown smoke is a too rich condition, and white smoke is a too lean condition! You need to do a compression and leakdown test on this motor! It sounds to me that you possibly have leaking valve guides,or bad rings! |

Thanks Guys,
I think I've got a valve guide problem. Thanks for all your help. The 83mm pistons have 3000 miles on them. Runs strong and smooth- but recently started a little blue smoke on start up. Only put about 1000 miles on it in 2004-half of last year. Restored, so it sits a bit in the garage. The valves were reground when the pistons went in, but I bet the shop did not do new valve guides. I have a few reasons to think they did not get done. Anyway back to the work bench with new help. I appreciate you taking time to give suggestions.
