BFY is terrific! I phoned in my order two days ago and it was waiting for me when I got home from work. Everything arrived in great shape.

Thanks again!

and darren is very quick to respond to emails on questions on orders

and I think my wife like the catalog to much. she kept saying i should get ..... for my bug

I hope he responds to me about my order. Bought some parts in the store and a couple of parts that they out of stock so they had to ship it to me. They never got back to me on when the ship date would be. I will still be buying parts from them, though. :D

Rick and Ohana.... I believe he's English....

My bad but I assumed he was Aussie cause he told my wife and I that he just got back from Australia and it was nice to visit family.

Yep, I'm English, from the same area as Judas Priest, Duran Duran, Led Zeppelin and Ozzy Osborne......from my town, we are always mistook for being either Australian or South African when we are in the US.

Rick We bought some parts when we were down on vacation as well. Free shipping for the seals that weren't in stock, was disappointed they didn't have a Keinzel ashtray clock for me!

Awesome company..I cannot recommend them enough. One day from Orange County to my door. Well worth the money for the shipping too. I just put a shiny new coil and bosch wiper blades on my bug. They had Brazilian rear fenders for my bug whicj some other online dealers no longer carry. Five stars

I have ordered many things from them, and it is good quality stuff for the most part, but the thing that gets me is,when the parts you order will fit in a small box they still charge too much shipping.Wolfburgwest does not!If it fits a smaller box they priority mail it which is cheaper.

I placed a $1200 order with BFY a month ago. I received a partial order, with no indication of anything being back ordered. After a phone call, I found that a few items were indeed back ordered, but were already on their way. While the individual I spoke to said there should be a back order slip on the box, I never found anything.

Cool. But not really. Part of my order was a pair of rear bumper bracket rust repair panels. I ordered one left, and one right. Received two rights though.

No biggie, I checked my invoice, and called BFY right away. They said "oops", and said they would send out a left side.

A little over a week later, a HUGE box arrives, with the replacement panel. It's ANOTHER right side.

This time my wife called, as I was working mids and trying to get some sleep. Sounds like the call didn't go quite so well this time, as the answer she received was "we can't just keep sending you more stuff".

Well, the right stuff would be GREAT. BFY now wants me to send back both of the incorrect panels, and they want me to pay for the shipping. They say they're going to reimburse me for the shipping charges...

Ok then - HOW ABOUT THE CORRECT PART??

Tell ya what BFY. I'll send back your two RIGHTS as soon as I have a LEFT.

Sure I'm a little frustrated over incorrect parts sent to me... But this is not the first time I have had this problem with BFY. Previously, it was a bumper. I needed a front, they sent a rear. Took well over a month to get that one straightened out and actually get what I ordered.

I ordered a windshield from them and it was there waiting like the next day again. Class act BFY parts

I buy there and never have a problem. Darrin and his guys are true VW guys. They will do their best to get you taken care of.

Same here, never had a problem and the whole crew is great. They really know their stuff; - went in describing a thing-ama-jig with a doo-hickey on top, and they knew, and had what I was looking for  . Always helpful, and never belittled me for not knowing something. Cant say enough about these guys.

Peace, Greg

I was new to the VW scene about a year ago and went into BFY on a Saturday to see if they had a tail light lens I needed for my split window beetle. I asked the guy at the counter (long hair Hispanic dude as I recall. Kind of a dick-head attitude) and he checked his inventory and said no he didn't have it. I was looking in the case up front and they had a lens that looked to me like it might work so I asked him "How about this one?" He looked at it, went into the back, came back and said "Yep, that one will work." When I got it home and tried to install it I quickly discovered that it did not fit! I took it to a buddy of mine who was/is VW savvy and he immediately told me it was the wrong one for my Beetle. It was for a bus! DOH!! The guy at BFY knew this too. I was going to take it back but listed it on Ebay with an honest description and got about the same that I paid for it. I have since spent thousands upon thousands of dollars on my restoration and guess what? I have not bought anything else from BFY!! I use WW among others and they are awesome. By that one experience with BFY I will never ever use them again so hopefully they enjoyed the one sale they got from me.

Stopped in at BFY a few days ago.
Note: the ad in hotVW's lists their address wrong. They are at 1460 N Glassel st, not 460.

So, a mistake was made and you didn't go back to give them a chance to correct it. Instead you come here and whine about it.

I was thinking that too... I would have returned it.

About 5 or 6 years ago, my brother (then owner of the Sunbug that i currently own....or is it the other way around?...oh well, to continue) had ordered quite a few items from them. He had bought 8 pushrod tubes, a new shifter, housing w/square ends (that go over the shifter for the stop plate) and a pair of the new quarter panel half-moon vent covers. They mistakenly sent him 8 fuel pump push rods, the wrong year shifter stick, the housing w/ "curved" ends for the stop plate, and the plastic vents had alot of un-trimmed plastic "Flash", making it look like crap (wich was at no fault of their own, for the exception of not looking at them for quality before selling them).

He called them and complained about the items received. He first asked about the wrong shifter housing w/curved ends. Some guy he spoke to was like, "oh, thats like a universal piece for all makes and model volkswagens", and gave him the run-around on another item, but my brother just hung-up on that guy and returned everything.

Needless to say, he was pretty sore at them for a few days!!!. He had bought a couple of items from them before that was fine, but not that last time....!.

(too bad that he returned the 8 fuel pump pushrods. They were NOS german vw!!. I would have bought them off of him, but oh well..... :( )

I wasn't whining. I was sharing an experience I had, which is what this forum is for. My point was this experienced BFY employee knew that the lens was for a bus and sold it to me anyway because I was a newb. Ya I could have returned it but I was listing items on ebay anyway and got immediate hits on it and it took less time for me to do it (sitting on my computer, selling, ups picks up, done). I posted because I think they are cool to the folks in the scene that know there sh*t but they did not treat me that way (at least that one sales/counter guy didn't). The old saying goes "Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me." I wasn't going to give them an opportunity to fool me twice.
