That has the right number of digits, and the 245 would indicate a deluxe...check the M code plate behind the passenger seat for the rest of the codes... |

that number looks like a VIN.. the 245 xxx xxx means
a type 2 (2)
deluxe (4)
65 model year (5)
which means it takes '65 ' parts. the idea that parts changes happened only at model year switches is just wrong. sometimes it did, but often it did not. Mostly at seemingly random times. I think the 'holdover from previous years' concept is just not so, they just made changes when they felt like it. Most parts from a 66 are the same as on a 65, however. But some are not. Some changes were made part way through the 66 model year. If you have a query about which parts fits, look it up in the on line parts list, URL in my sig. the parts list is a lovely book.
keep in mind that POs usually have made changes, and odds are that you do not have the original engine, nor transmission. |

Well looking at my book, you bus was bulit sometime in October 64.
As the last bus to roll off the production line in
October 64 was: *** 053 460
And the last bus to roll of the production line in
September 64 was : *** 036 650
you bus will be a 65 model but was really made in 64.
Hope this helps, To get a date you'll be better off getting a certificate from the factory. They are really cool!

8) The M-code plate behind the passenger seat holds all the info you need.. Try and find that. |
