Where did you get that number from on the bus?

Grant Fri Dec 24, 2004 8:45 pm

in the metal on the right side of the engine.

That has the right number of digits, and the 245 would indicate a deluxe...check the M code plate behind the passenger seat for the rest of the codes...

that number looks like a VIN.. the 245 xxx xxx means
a type 2 (2)
deluxe (4)
65 model year (5)

which means it takes '65 ' parts. the idea that parts changes happened only at model year switches is just wrong. sometimes it did, but often it did not. Mostly at seemingly random times. I think the 'holdover from previous years' concept is just not so, they just made changes when they felt like it. Most parts from a 66 are the same as on a 65, however. But some are not. Some changes were made part way through the 66 model year. If you have a query about which parts fits, look it up in the on line parts list, URL in my sig. the parts list is a lovely book.

keep in mind that POs usually have made changes, and odds are that you do not have the original engine, nor transmission.

Well looking at my book, you bus was bulit sometime in October 64.

As the last bus to roll off the production line in
October 64 was: *** 053 460

And the last bus to roll of the production line in
September 64 was : *** 036 650

you bus will be a 65 model but was really made in 64.

Hope this helps, To get a date you'll be better off getting a certificate from the factory. They are really cool!

8) The M-code plate behind the passenger seat holds all the info you need.. Try and find that.

ok, i found it.

21 0

425 002 025 114 130

UF 2412 454483 504603

i;ve figured out most of it:

425- seats, belts, and mounting points
025- safety belts
114- 6 pop-out side windows
130- hardtop deluxe

Uf means deliverd to S.F.? right? it was sealingwax red and b/Gr with mesh grey interior and it had a nitro laqure finish. and it was made in oct. of '64

does anyone know what 002 is?
does nayone know if my bus came with a radio?
