Hi Dan,
Well, it is not a Thing part, and while it is somewhat close to looking like the bus or bug/KG ones. It is not like any we have seen in person or any images of the dusty climate air cleaners we have in our VW literature. You can see some of these @

Thanks for the input guys. I am at a loss. It doesl look similar so perhaps and aftermarket one? I will keep on my search and try the bus folks. Thanks again!

Hi Dan,
Does it have any part numbers or manufacture name on it? All the heavy duty air cleaners we have and have seen have a VW part number on it. If it was a bus AC it would not have the intake on the top, which in a bus engine compartment would be right up against the ceiling.
