Which Shorrock are you going to use? C75 or C142?
it is the C75B03.
but what belt i best use? twin v-belt or belt whit tooths? i have already pulleys with 19-20-21 tooth and i think to use 19 on the crank and 21 on the shorrock.
next month i start to build the engine then i will post here some pictures.
the last setup whas 87x64 1522cc
new set up is 87x74 1760cc with shorrock ,howmuch hp will this give?
Kever57, You will produce less HP than a good dual carb setup. 1760cc is way too big for the Shorrock 75B; you would need the 142B to work on that size engine. I currently run an 40HP Okrasa Dual Port 1500cc with the Shorrock overdriven to 1.45:1, which produces about 7lbs of boost (100HP), this is the max (6800-7000 rpm) you can safely turn the blower without additional modifications to the front bearing and even then I do not believe you will get any boost. I would definitely use the toothed belt drive with a fixed idler or a ribbed belt with an automatic tensioner. If the 75B is your only blower option then I would suggest concentrating on blueprinting a free breathing 1500cc and join the Shorrock club. There are not many of us that actually run/enjoy one! :P
ok,from today i have my c142b and i gona put that on my engine. that c142b is BIG,i have carb from 2" on it. |

Kever 57, Congratulations!! I have been studying mounting mine and have some ideas but it is not going to be easy.
Please keep me posted on your progress.
Warm regards, Howard
Here is a picture of my CB142 that I bought mounted on an old British race motor (real ugly setup but reported to have run well right up until it seized):

| I'm buying a 56' Oval with the OG 36hp engine that hasn't been driven since the mid 90's, you can still turn the engine by hand the car itself is in very restorable condition with alittle rust, an is all OG a complete 56 Oval, I plan on restoring the car, pan up restoration, I only plan on driving it on the weekends or days off work to the store and such and maybe a swap meet/car show or two, (just to look at cars entered already in a car show not to show this car), I would like to first of all keep the resto. process within budget, and second keep the car as OG as possible, but I also would like to have alttle power for the Hwy, and some real reliability. |

Congradulation!!
DRIVE THE CAR EVERYDAY the weather permits!! I bought a 64 K/G out of a barn in OK with only 22k miles on it nearly 7 years ago. It did require a complete exterior restoration (in my opinion anyway) to OG standards due to “barn rash” but the interior, pan, running gear and etc. was like brand new. I stored the original motor after a few oil flushes and tune up and installed a period correct 100hp Shorrock powered 40hp along with 356B brakes, vintage aftermarket wheels and other select bolt on performance accessories. I drive it every day the weather is nice. It is at work now. Enjoy the car and please don't let it just sit. Worried about the investment get it insured for the amount you believe it is worth. Worried about resale keep all the original parts to put back on later. “Enjoy the Ride”! |

Just dont let your friends convince you to SLAM it, Drive it, and If it has to sit for a week, wile a GOOD part comes in, It will not have and attitude.
judson is nice, but if you want a blower Find a Pepco. I mean shouldnt you have the speedo, in a 6 volt 36hp pepco car, point almost to zero again? There will be video this year near the end of september secret location. |

Hello-
I don't have the funds to build a 356 crank/rods, okrasa head engine, so my plan 'B' is to purchase Riechert manifolds/linkage (http://www.ismi.net/riecherttuning/german/verg_2xsolex28pci-beschr.htm )and 83mm pistons from Mr. Okrasa (when he releases them.) What I'm wondering is how much work I'll have to do to my heads to make this combination breath properly?
Thanks,
Paul |

Paul, Look back over this thread and pay attention to the 36hp headwork done by Tom "bvilletom" or do a search on bvilletom. He has developed the best documented flowing 36hp single port head out there. Good luck on your build.

Hello-
I don't have the skills or the flow bench to do my own porting and polishing. Assuming that I could work out the math so I could provide a machine shop with my goals, how much should I expect my head work to cost? $500 a head? More?
Thanks,
Paul |

Hell-
I was looking at some distributor curve data http://www.vintagewerks.com/html/body_distrib_4_sale.html, and it made me realize that I have know idea how to match a non-stock engine with a distributor. Does anyone have any advice?
Thanks,
Paul |

Hello.
I am finely in the process of rebulding completly a 36 HP engine to use with an EXPRESS dual carb kit that has been siting too long for now on my garage shelf.
I was first planing to rebuilt that engine stock original (except for the dual carb of course) but the more i read this fantastic topic and the more i thought why not take adventage of the rebuilt process to use some more powerfull internal part for the engine block.
Specialy the "okrasa like" cw crankshaft in 69mm, a performance camshaft and a lighted flywheel.
I will use the 77mm stock cylinder and piston and also the stock head (Express manifold are single port and use modified 28 PCI carb)
BUT, question are :
with the 69mm crankshaft, since, i'm using the stock heads... and not Okrasa heads... will i need barrel shims to change the piston deck height ? Has any of U already experience that ? Or do you know about any special pistons ?
The 36HP connecting rod are sayed not to be very strong... do you have any solution or do you use special rod ?
Is there also any extra choice regarding the Pushrod ?
I have seen those 74mm porsche crankshaft, but you then need the correct porsche connecting rod... and pistons... and okrasa like head... But because those are hard to find, expensive, and also I want to keep the 36HP external look... i thought of keeping the stoch cylinder-piston and heads... at least for the begening.
and the last... any supplier for the OT style crank pulley ?
thanks for your advices and idea.

I spoke to Hr Riechert on the phone today and ordered my double 28PCI kit. His English is fine if a little hesitant, so don´t worry about calling him. Nice guy and very helpful. |

BTW, I'm looking for a OT four hole pulley. My engine build wont start for quite a while, but I'm allways on the lookout for parts.
