| I have a 1600 DP Tyoe I engine that has a strange (to me) looking oil pump housing. It has what looks like a metal tube coming out of each side that has been crimped tight. Is this something that was used on an automatic? |

yes that is what it sounds like... the external cover and those hoses go to a second set of gears that were what pumped the ATF fluid.
Otherwise it still functions normally for the engine oil pump.
If you ever decide to change it, keep it and advertise it in the classifieds. Some autostick owner may want to get it from you. |
