if anyone could post a pic of their heater sliding covers INSTALLED that would be great (the ones located by your feet)... My 67 did not have them, but a doner 67 I got for free did.... I took them off without taking a photo of them in original form (installed)... how stupid was that? anyway...now I pay the price. Thanks in advance for any help.

I don't have a picture but it is a pretty simple set up. The bottom has a channel that the cover slides on. The top there is a hole for and aft of the louvers that a spring steel wire fits into and keeps tention on the cover.

In the past on cars I have restored and couldn't come up with the proper spring / clip I just made a little channel for the top that looked just like the bottom one and welded or riveted it on. I then use a rivet for & aft to keep the cover from sliding too far in either direction.

thanks..the spring wire is what mine is missing...d'oh! Thanks..I will fabricate something similar....
