I just received the BC for my 54 3-fold and was surprised to find out that the car was first purchased from Riviera Motors LTD., San Francisco. This is the same dealership that my 58 Convertible Ghia was purchased from when it was new :)

Does anyone know anything about this dealership? I would like to find a couple of great license plates or promotional items from that dealer.

I saw your car real nice,was strato silver the og color my 54 rag came in strato silver too seems like a popular color for 54's. On the dealer info the 2 old large format plate frames I've seen for San Fran are MCAllister and other other one just said San francisco on top and Volkswagen in the bottom

Yes Strato Silver is the OG color for my car. I'm also glad that the BC comfirmed that my 54 was equipped with the sunroof :) Where did you see my car. Did you stop by West Coast Classics?

I saw your car on Lennys web site,I got my BC also and it confirmed real 3 fold :D Hey Skim are Norcalriverias plate frames for the big 51-55 CA plates.

Did not know I was on his site :) Funny thing is that I took the car in to get new upholstery and ended up getting a complete WCC restoration :oops:

No they are regular sized so no they wont work on YOM 54 plates.

interior came out real nice so when was your 54 built mine was built August 23 and delivered to Craig Stanton New York.

I can't tell from the photo you running hearts or egg lenses.

Hearts. As far as I can tell they came with the car. The OG owners states that nothing much has been changed on the car since his father purchased it.

Egg lights weren't incorporated by VW until sometime in Nov 54.
