| The flatter the top, the earlier the air cleaner. Late 36hp engines used a cone-shaped aircleaner while mid 50s had a dome-shaped cleaner. |

I have seen a "cyclone" air cleaner used mainly on european cars. It looks like a air raid siren pointing to the side of the engine compartment
Very Cool! |

Hi l227vw@yahoo.com,
We have:
Technical Bulletin K/7, 1963 Edition, (Supersedes the 1959 Edition).
Technical Bulletin K/7,1966 Edition, 2nd Suppliment, (Supersedes 1965 Edition, 3rd Supplement.
Technical Bulletin K/7, 1968 Edition- 1st Suppliment, (Supersedes 1st Suppliment of 1966 editions)
The first two show installation of the cyclone air cleaner in Bus, Bug & K Ghia. The last shows only Bus installation. All use an larger oil bath air cleaner mounted on the engine comparment wall, piped between the cyclone air cleaner and the carb.

My Hoffman split ragtop has its original cyclonic aircleaner. I'll post a pic tonight. I switch it back and forth with an extra "T" aircleaner I have. |
