| I have a 65 bug that has the original drivetrain. The transmission stuck in gear(in 3rd I believe) and I had to pull the trans out and pulled the tailshaft housing off and unjammed the shifters to get it to be able to shift again. What do I need to do without a total rebuild, to ensure that this doesn't occur again? Thanks in advance! :D |

| talking to mine helped alot-- they know i will part them out for my other 67's if they dont cruise. next time pull fill plug with 17MM allen wrench and reach in with flat blade screwdriver to move the internally toothed coller back into position. buy another beetle same year-park it where the bad one can see it.. say "you will be a parts beetle for her if you screw up again" it works honest. |
