How big is too big of an engine for a daily driver? I would like to put a 2000+ cc into my bug. I drive about 40 miles round trip daily to work. |

It's never too big. Just build it on the conservative side.
Lower compression, quality parts and regular maint. It should last many miles. |

First we must define what is to big.
Alot depends on how you plan on driving it, driving conditions etc.
Just build it then worry if it is to big. |

When planning the outline for your new 2.0 liter, base everything around a streetable cam. And a lower compression ratio for longevity. |

I daily drive a 2332cc motor in my oval! I set the cr to 8.5to1 so I can use street gas,and used semi streetable gears. At 85 mph I'm revving 4500 which to me isnt bad,and my car runs the quarter at 12.4@105mph! |

i drive a 2057 (74x94) turbo efi with 300+hp .i have well over 50,000 mile on it from 1996 .
i only do the oil and filter 3500-4000 miles.
use good parts and it will be good to you.
what has size got to do with it ?
80% of the time you will not have your foot in it going fast.
just have fun in your ride |

Turbo's are great because they can be built mild yet as soon as you start to boost you have more HP than 90% of big stroker N/A motors. Check this out http://thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=111205 |
