That looks like George's bug, a cool cat that went to Wilson High and sadly passed away from a motorcycle accident.

Yup, I was about to say the same thing as well, there was the one in HP from the "Bugs Buddies", this one in HLP and Allwagons friend from Wilson. Turquoise and Baby Blue also was very popular colors back then cause the chicks loved those colors.

This Vdub color combo Turquoise and off white was very popular in the early 80's LA. There was this one owned by John Highland Park, a "Bugs Budddie" one owned by Tom from Huntington Park, another one owned by disco head Raul from Huntington Park, including ALLWAGONS friend George and I'm not even including the Turquoise Convertibles rollin around the streets of Los Angeles..... all Vintage Cal-Style supplied by Jaime & Vintage VW parts in Glendale.

ALLWAGONS, here's a little info on this bug. Text copied and pasted from The Cal-Style Newsletter; "From the time we posted this L.A. Vdub several months ago till today we still get people who post that they remember it from the L.A heyday. So we inquired for more info to pass on to our readers that think they might or might not recognize it. This blue bug belonged to Vintage Volkster car club member John Moreno of Highland Park, (Franklin High Class of 81). He and his twin brother were always ahead of the game whether it was Dirt Bikes, Crotch Rockets, Sports Cars or Vintage Cal-Style bugs. This ragtop was totalled in 1984 coming off one of the 110 fwy exits in HLP so sadly there won't be a survival story to report on this one. (accesorized by nearby Vintage Volkswagen Parts in Glendale Cali.)"
