Its usually just $5 for the weekend and is tons of fun. Lots of buggy's doing crazy things, burn-out contests have happened in the past, camping next to the lake, the burn bus. And Lawn mower races...what more do I need to say!

Just finalized a deal to make Saturday July 13th as MDA Day at The Races. Bugfest will be a perfect event for any MDA families to come out to Great Lakes Dragaway for free, have a hospitality tent and show the kids a good time. I am guessing that the "Paint a Bus" will be a popular spot. If you know any families that could take advantage, please forward them this info. MDA will also be holding a 50/50 raffle to raise money for the cause.

June 9 � ACCCNE presents The 2nd Annual :: COVERED BRIDGE CRUISE / BBQ� we will ride through 6 different covered bridges through the Swanzey NH area then everyone is welcome to come back to our home for a BBQ Hot Dogs and Hamburgers provided by John�s Air-Cooled Auto Meet at 207 River St Winchendon MA 12:30 pull out for cruise at 1:30 and then back to our home for the BBQ.

No, it wasn't worth $400 to me. I offered $300 same as the scrap yard and said it would go to good use instead of being crushed. I crawled under it and the frame at the rear torsion housing was almost gone. That is one of the worst buses I've seen in a while. It made Dave's old turd bus look good.

Hey guys. I received a phone call/email from someone in NC that is looking for a 63 Beetle to have at an event on Amelia Island at the Ritz Carlton on July 12.
This is for Mighty Auto Parts that is celebrating 50 years. They started out in a Beetle, so that is why they are in search for one.
If you know of someone that has a 60s model that is in real good shape. Let me know and I will forward on your information to the company. They event stated that they would accommodate and feed you.

I've had issues with these brakes off and on since I've had it. I'm close to being able to drive it (this time around), and went ahead and bought new shoes and a master cylinder last night (I've got new wheel cylinders). Ive been through five different engines in this thing. What sucks is the last one I had something kinda flukey happened and it was out of commission for several months. I've contemplated selling it altogether and using the money to buy a completely mechanically sound one (much like the '59 SC). Idk...

I'd love to drive it this summer. I think you've been catching it in between engine blow-ups, Brad

Fast Times at Farmington Results
The weather certainly put a damper on the turnout for the 19th running of Fast Times at Farmington on May 19th. But despite what the weather man said we still had a good number of new and used swap meeters, Show cars and even racers. They all knew what may happen, but still came out to support the event! It hadn't rained at the track on Saturday, Sunday morning, until around 2pm. We were in our 3rd round of time runs when the rain started a bit, but it came back a few minutes later with more on the way, so the racing portion had to be cancelled. We hate it, but we can't control Mother Nature.
We would like to thank everyone that came out to the event. Special Thanks to Tim at Everett's Aircooled for bringing the Limbo Contest to the event. This was the first time and looked to be a hit, so be on the lookout to see this event at various events. We will be back at The Farm on Oct 20th, so we will see you guys then. Results & photos for the show car area will be up soon.

According to their Facebook page, Volkswagen Club of Tidewater (VCOT) is meeting at the Indian River Road park and ride in Virginia Beach Sunday morning at 7 AM and driving up together. Only about an hour and a half from here, instead of 3 1/2 to Manasas.

I might join them, it'll be the first time with my 69 'vert.

What is "Dub of the Day" ??? When we started the newsletter on Facebook there was picture of the day, word of the day, verse of the day etc, etc but we looked around and couldnt find a vdub of the day, WHAAAT??? Well there is NOW and its called "Dub of the Day"! We also had a sponsor that loved what we were doing since he was a Vdubber himself. And Cycle 1 and 2 were sponsored by Burt Flores of ShowTime Music Workz. Every Cycle runs 4 months and $250 cash winner is based only on most FB likes. Paul Fonseca of GFK won cycle-1 right after Christmas and JJT of VertsOnly won Cycle-2 right after Tax day. Cycle 3 winner will be announced right after Back to School, August.

Great weekend! Huge thanks to everyone that attended, especially those from out of state! We also thank everyone who showed up early, helped clean, move cars, etc. We couldn't do it without everyone's help. Another positive note, everyone did a great job of picking up after themselves at the shop party and show on Saturday both. It's nice people can be somewhat respectable and not leave trash everywhere for someone else to clean up.

Oh, and thanks for the 20+ tampons I found in my toolbox yesterday morning, they're working great for oil clean up!

matt why do u need disc brakes on your 66? Properly adjusted and rebuilt stock brakes will do just fine. If you want them, do it right and just buy a kit for a bus from bustoration. Its been at least 12 years since Ive seen that bus drive anyways

He had a baby raccoon last year, told me that he had a whole litter. Also mentioned that he had a pet Dingo for 9 or 10 years and that she helped raise the raccoons.

Guess the dude likes animals a lot. That fox was cute though
