Sweet ride. Now get rid of those late seats and start saving up for a top. I would go with the real wood bows, stay away from the synthetic(sp) ones.

thanks for the positives guys. i got low backs that i just picked up at a show 2 weeks back but i was told that the tracks on the replaced floorpans are a different type that only can handle later seats so i am going to have to try and fit the low back seat backs to the later model seat bottoms, if that is posssible???? it has one wood bow and yeah i am trying to get the mechanics done now and worry about the roof when it is road ready. i have a white vinyl roof as part of the deal but i am going to go with a black canvas roof instead. i am unsure what color the interior should be as it came from the factory. anyone got a lead?

it runs and stops now and 99% of the electric works. it is still a cluster f#@! from a few previous owners i guess. i put the trim rings around the wheels to hide the silver painted wheels. new tires were added. interior is my next project and then a top. thankfully it will be stored indoors for the winter!

thanks! both of these look good from 20 feet.(ask jdotpickens!) the bug has an amateur restoration on it. mechanically it was a mess. it needed a lot of front end and brake work also, and i toyed w/ the idea of dropping it but i couldn't do it. eventually i have to get a birth certificate for the bug to find out its roots(bus is a true german!) i want to know the og color of the bug and the og color of the interior if that is possible???

Being a 1965, the chances of it being German are like Better then 95% actually, because it was imported in the US, but still happy your glad, lol.

Do you have any old registrations? You could also go to your state registration office and ask to see if any old registration info is availble on the car, to find out the original paint on the car. Or possibly a dealers sticker. Just a few ideas.

Jordan i meant it was german delivered and then someone(probably an amercian tourist) brought it over. no info on past owners of the bug other than the guy who had it before me and he had zilch which is why i had to "buy" a title for it! No Foxx the bus will always be w/ me and has hung around since 1989! not sure the bug will be around as long!
