Just thought I would share some pics of my soon to be painted Bus. Classic 2-tone blue and white, I have a special top that I fabrricated to plug the top hole where the original fiberglass pop top was, I'll post pics of that soon, very original.

I plan on fabricating retro t-bars for the back out of Stainless steel and a seamless 1-piece front bumper but instead of rubber foot pads I will use polished stainless diamond plate for traction. that will be the 68-72 front bumber. Chevy Arival blue which changes from dark blue to light blue on the bottom and a white to match my vinyl top.
And thanks for the compliment.

Is that tail light going to be street legal? Seems like it would be hard to see being so low and thin. Definately unique.

Good point, I wonder the same. Specially because other drivers won't be able to guess if you are a car, bike or flying saucer. That being said, I hope you get it through the inspection, let us know! Very Happy

Actually I drove to many towns and cities in Arizona for allmost a year and have only been pulled over because I had no license plate light. I even got a compliment from the cop! And actuallly it is very bright approx. 900-1k high intnsity LED's. The original advertisement was for an old t-bucket. Totally street legal. This is actually the tail light that "seponmebbbooom" gave me such a hard time about.

well I will say it again, if you want to spend $800 on taillights that is your right, but if you come on here asking for opinions youre going to get them. I dont know what youre asking in this thread, but I think you might want to raise those mudflaps up just a touch.

Just trying to help.

Never ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, get rid of those mud flaps. Very nice and stylish to have, and very hard to find.

I have a trailer that I pull my streched beach cruzer to car shows with and I needed a pair of flaps to match them, and couldn't find them till I looked on the Samba.

Hoooray Samba!

So anyone who has ever started a project knows that it is never finished.

Well look at the original posting of this thread and I can assure you that this has never been more true. I aquired Courtney right after high school. Had a great time in her with friends, camping, just cruising, working on her whatever it was. I originally didn't know her name at first but it came to me after working so hard on her one night and she finally told me. Typical - just plain ol stuborn woman. Well she has gone through many changes over the years. Meeting my girlfriend who would soon become my wife. taking my kids out in the desert to go over the "bumps" as they call em, taking my family camping in the mountains. Going to endless car shows and vw campouts all over Az. Its amaving how someone can fall in love with a vehicle. I constantly try to work on her to make her look the way that I have allways envisioned her to be.

Thanks to everyone who has helped me through the years. The beauty of the VW community is we come together to help eachother out and I cant think of anything else I would want to be a part of.

Thanks again.
