Just wondering if a T3 IRS transaxle is the same as a T1 IRS transaxle, and would it be a straight bolt-on swap installing a T3 IRS transaxle into a 72 Ghia. Thanks in advance T3 crowd.

If you put a T-3 trans in a '72 Ghia, you will be lowering the gear ratio. The '72 Ghia has a 3.875 final ratio, and the T-3 has a 4.125 ratio. The Ghia trans is the orginal "Freeway Flyer" trans.
