Don't "try to fit in"... blaze your own trail! That's what being a Type 3er is all about! Don't worry, sometimes we flay each other in here, but we stick up for each other in the Rants...sometimes...ah, crap, who am I fooling?
Post some pix of yer pile.

Yeah, like me. I'm not scared of sawzalls, and even put them to use. I try to think outside the box, or even outside the box that it came in. And as soon as this customer ghia is gone, my Roadster is going back in for it's t-4 engine conversion. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

It has been a little rough around this neighborhood lately But hey welcome anyhow. Now the real question...
Are you coming over to the dark side or do we have to drag you in kicking and screaming??? _________________ John

You should have seen my 13 year old grandson's eyes light up, when I mentioned that the next warmish weekend, he could come down, and we would take the sawzall to the body on the parts car. I think he has some of Tim Allen's DNA in his system. _________________ Society is like stew. If you don't keep it stirred up, you end up with a lot of scum on the top!--Edward Abbey

i am a darksider as well, hopefully will be finished with the bodywork on the main shell of my '72 squareback by the end of the month and laying down some primer (I shaved the drip rails because they were rusted through and welded in an electric sunroof frame, front and rear end were smashed up too so lots of filler on this car). i have been putting in 8 hour days every day since I'm off from school at the local community college and I am beat. No power tools for the bodywork, straight up blocking all of it bit by dirty bit. Good arm workout tho :p
will hopefully mud up the type 1 headlight conversion and the shaved door handles next month, kinda tough with a 1 month old baby but I have to get it done soon. |

Hey you brought up the term only fair you should have to educate my ignorant ass a little. So yeah darkside was the plan to begin with. I plan on dumping it as soon as I redo the brakes and actually complete front end redo real soon hopefully. This car is extra so I have time to work on her in my spare time. It occasionally smokes already but not in a good way _________________ 71 Square

Start 'em young Russ. That sawzall to metal is like a drug, once you start you can't stop. I've seen grown men loose their minds when holding them, they just want to keep going.
Oh, and the power of the Darkside is stong, give in to it. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

No doubt. You should have seen Keith Park with a sawzall in hand. He was grinning from ear to ear cutting up a relatively rust free square. _________________

Now that would have been a sight to see. Anyone have pictures that we can blown up for the next Invasion? _________________ Later,

It was just him and I and I forgot to bring a camera. He didn't cry at all. He cut out the drivers side pan edge/seat rail and both rear corners for the eggcrate. _________________
