| Those are great quality tool boxes for a very decent price. Roller bearing drawers, Stainless Steel construction, gas assisted lid, locking compartments etc.... They're manufactured in the LA County area and are distributed through Costco Warehouse stores for about $600-$700 |

Sams Club also has one it is less than 700.00$

Yup, Sams has them and a smaller one also. I have been drooling over that one since christmas. Just waiting for my buddy who's a manager in the local one to tell me he has the last one and it's CHEAP hehe

i thought about gettintg that one. it seemed pretty well built, and it looked good too. but i didn't like the drawer layout. just didn't fit my tool arrangement (i know, but i 'm picky like that).
i ended up spendig the money on something else, then waound up getting a harbor freight box instead. it's alright. the flat paint job is getting to me, and the drawers aren't sliding as well as they used to. but the drawer layout is better, although i'm now wishing i had a different configuration. it only cost me $300 though.

My drawers slide in and out as nice as Snap-On,Mac,Kobalt,Sears. It has heavy duty ballbering sliders I think 2 per side per drawer and solid construction.
I did my homework on all the boxes out there price/quality and found
that Sams beat all of the competition.
I do not work for Sams I just try to get the most for my money. |

That's my box, I got it for about a grand after my student discount. Having that, and having used my partner's $600 box similar to the ones you're linking to, here's what I feel about the two.
The Snap On box definately feels more solid, with the drawers, the rollers, it just feels more put together. But, that comes at a price. If you're just going to park it somewhere, there is no reason not to go with the cheaper box, you'd be just as happy and save a large hunk of cash. But if you're constantly moving it around, I like the feel of pushing my box. I guess its the Mercedes compared to his Toyota, both of good quality, one's jsut a little more luxurious.

| My boss has the Sams box. I wish it was mine. I will probably get one when I have the money for a tool box. I think the biggest thing to look for is the ball bearing drawer slides. The drawers without the bearings will slide great until you get them loaded down. Also look at the weight capacity on each drawer. Your tools weigh more than you think. That being said, Right now I have a $50 special from Wierdo World. I hate it but it does keep my tools off the ground. I will "upgrade" as soon as I have the money and don't have other things I need worse than a new tool box. |

I did a 200 ft. driveway/bridge for a guy who got wiped out by hurricane Ivan. He had 4 of those stainless chest in is garage, all of them rolled up like soda cans full of sand. The bearings were all froze up and hewas gonna have to torch them apart to get what tools he could save. He had aphoto of his shop with all 4 lined up, very impressive. I don't have a lot of tools so I just bought one of these from europe.

| hazet hands down has the nicest roll cabs in the industry. They transcend their purpose and approach fine art in their lines and function. AutoImport in Ottawa has an enviable setup in their showroom. |

craftsman 10-drawer or whatever, holds tons of tools, takes the weight well and the drawers couldn't be smoother. the big drawers are great for drills and soldering irons, the smaller drawers keep the socket sets well organized. definately better to go with a ball-bearing chest than one of the crappy sliders, I didn't like how they felt new on the showroom floor.

It's a good side box. I use it for special tools, electrical tools etc. I wouldnt compare it to snapon but I think it is as good as the "better" craftsman stuff. The drawers slide nice..but not like a snap-on box. Definately worth the $450 I paid at Sam's for it. It was scratched up

| If you do get one of the Costco toolboxes, make sure you keep your receipt. A couple guys at work have those and the locks have gone out on them. When you call they company for a new one, they'll give it to you as long as you have the receipt. |

Funny you mention this. I thought I lost the keys to the top box. It took all of 30 seconds with a long thin screwdriver to open it. If you are using this box at work...I recommend a padlock and shackle set up.
