| I need a front bumper for my Kellison sportster pickup. Link pin front end, distance from front beam to end of front of body, at least 17", narrow portion below license is 15". Bought Manx style bumper from Moore parts, but not even close to fitting. Too short. Resold at loss. Hate to buy another one that does not fit. Has anyone bought a front bumper that might fit, mounting to front beam and /or front shock mounts. Double tube would be nice. |

Is the problem because the 'nose' sticks too far out?

I think the problem lies in that the aftermarket 'buggy bumpers' were designed for standard Manx-Type buggies and Bajas. On your buggy, they would interfere with the hood, in a big way.
For your standard buggy bumper (or even the double-tube): Could you not extend the shock mount bumper mounting bracket with flat stock, and do the same with tubing on the bottom mount?
I don't know of a bumper that is bolt-on that will extend that far out. _________________ OG JHC

Uncle Bob, Front is where I need clearance. Your link came up, but no pic.
90 volts, nice pics only my shell is longer in front than these. The one I bought did not lend to modification. jcwhitney.com item # daa143041. Some of the others may work, but they give no dimenions, and the people they have taking orders have no idea what they are selling. At least on samba, somebody has been there, done that.

Richard,
I've installed that standard buggy bumper (pictured above), a Manx-Bumper (the little bitty chrome one, that mounts only to the front end bolts) and a double-tube baja/buggy bumper.
I am almost positive all will interfere with your long nosed body.
If you don't want to hack your body, I think you will have to modify which ever bumper you choose. If it were me, I'd probably get the double-tube Baja Bumper, and extend the mounting points, or modify it to fit. Beyond that, you may have to get one custom made. _________________ OG JHC

| Thanks Uncle Bob. I will take your advice and go with the double tube Baja style. I have no problem with extending mounting brackets. Has to be easier to modify than the one I had. No way I am cutting body. |
