#1. Where exactly does the horn mount on a 67 squareback?

#2. Is the washer bottle horizontal or vertical on a 67 squareback?

1. The horn on my 67 square is on the turn signal lever.
2.I wish i knew, or had one to wonder about.

The PO installed a brand new steering wheel with a new horn button on it. The horn on the signal lever may not be original to the car. Now that i think about it, my car is not original in many ways. Hector

The horn itself is mounted under the left front bumper. As for the washer bottle, IIRC, it is a horizontal one.

That is actually my dash. My horm actuator (not button) is on the turn signal lever!!! Must not be correct then. I suppose that is what the under dashmat metal would look like with no pad. Let me know if anyone needs any pics of certain spots close up.

yep, i pulled that pic from your gallery. your horn actuator is probably an aftermarket piece. i recall having a car (not VW) that had the horn on the signal stalk, by design. i can't remember what kind of car it was. 70's ford galaxie 500, maybe?

i think the center mounted tach is nice too. i'd worry about my passenger's knees with the stereo there, though. i've been thinking of building a console that connects to the radio mounts, that houses a tach in the center but still keeps the radio in the original place. much like the ones readily availible for beetles, or adapting one of those to fit

there is always the option of an Australian Type 3 console - mounts the tach right there for you....

i don't remember what those are like. pics?
i was thinking today that the console would be a better place for the clock, with the tach in the clock hole in the dash
