| 10 years ago I lived in Ivring Tx. and was always seaching junkyards for parts. On one trip looking for type 3 parts The owner of the yard pointed out a very old bus all over grown parked on the side of a old building..Now that I`m into busses I`m thinking it may have been a barndoor with the large engine lid..Anyway maybe someone out there could take a look..If your in the town of Irving go east on Old E Irving Blvd go over loop 12 and the yard is on the right just before the trinity river. It was parked to the left by a building just as you enter the yard..PS. I did a eathgoogle and the yard is still there but couldn`t pull down that close to see it. good luck |

That's the most novel way of searching for BD's EVER. |

I checked out google earth and It was very out dated.... so much so that I went to where I found my bus ( years ago) sitting parked for years.... and there it was right where I found it! Thought that was pretty cool. _________________ Stitch...

pull up the area you mentioned on here http://local.live.com/
it appears to have newer images for the area than google
and it has a thing called 'birdseye' , lets you rotate the image to get a bigger look
i think i see what looks like remains of a junk yard around the river area you mentioned |

| If you go to to main dirt road to the lift you`ll see two buildings. One with white car`s or something and the other with a long rusty roof..It was parked beside that one..Looks like there`s still something there..That`s it I`m done it a long shot.. |

Howdy folks...I went to the junkyard on my way to Arlington to scout it out and see what all the fuss might be about.
I talked to a security employee at the front gate, and I was assured that were no vehicles in the yard whatsoever. It is all scrap metal. You can't see anything behind the fence except for the huge mound of scrap metal debris.
Sorry to disappoint everyone, but no pot-o-gold there. Even worse, I imagine that the poor bus that was resting there may have been assimilated.
Now, it did look like a great place for some of the folks who live in the Whine forum to forage.... _________________ www.cars20thcentury.com |
