First off, I see this is your first post. Welcome.
There is a retainer at the front of the right seat rail, which also acts as the stop. Slide the seats forward to the stop, push it down, and slide them off to the front. Pulling the steering wheel might make removing the driver's seat easier, but I'm not sure it's necessary.

i am new to the posting in this & any forum. i was just trying to figure out how to cancel/delete it. due to my inquisitive, educated, investigative self, i have found a previous ad answering my question. i read so much i dont know if you had anything to do with it, or not. if not i did read some info you have placed, helped others with. thanks again!! too bad there arent many kind people in my parts in order to help without charging an arm & leg, for something sooooo easy to take care of. _________________ NRA LIFE Member ("stand your ground", CCW, 2nd amendment right, Yes .45) |

Before you go to one of the places you mentioned, your should read this thread http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=178698&sid=1a4409301ded04662601dddf63b127a4
The other place is just fine.

Are you referring to the plastic seat guides? German Motor Works and the Thing Shop both have them. They go on top of the rail, open side down. Don't forget to put a little grease on them.
