I have never bought stocks, other that investing in a 401k that my company offers. I wanted to buy some stock that is selling about $1.08 right now. IF their technology takes off here in the US it might double or tank. I was looking at brokerage houses but most require that you open an account with a substancial amount. The lowest I saw was $2500, if i had that kind of money I would be getting my dub rolling.

My question is where can I buy stock without having to put down a ton of money I want to buy about $100 worth of this stock. Any advice would be appreciated.

I would look at a place like Scott trade. (www.scottrade.com) I had an account with them a few years ago. The minimum is $500. Much less than $2500. They also have no "inactivity fees".
Also, I do not think that much has to be invested in actual stocks. For instance, they usually offer like a bank account that draws a small amount of interest, and then you could put $400 in the bank type account and only risk the $100 or so on the stock that you want.
