I'm finally getting around to re-covering my original front seats. Seat one- no problems. Seat 2...too many problems to list. The one I can't seem to get past is the fact that the pointed tabs at the bottom of the seat back all broke off as soon as I put the new seat cover on and tried to bend them in. Now I have nothing to actually hold the two ends of the seat back cover on. Any suggestions on an alternative way to keep the cover on - without it looking terrible? I guess the biggest problem I have is that initially the tabs have a lot of pressure on them until the cover itself relaxes and stretches out. Any help will be GREATLY appreciated. |

Hog rings or tie wraps. Most oll of the VW seats I've recovered have had one or more of these pointed tabs broken or missing.
Tie wrap the cover to any point under the seat; just be sure the metal rods are slid into the new seat covers (you did keep those skinny rods from the old seat covers right?). |

Thanks! No idea why that didn't occur to me- but that should work perfect. |
