Can anyone post picture of the inside of their hard top and attachment points? I got a top,but don't know if I am mising anything. And.. on the convertible,do the front row of rivits need to be removed to replace the top?? I just want to remove mine and have it repaired, since it is coming apart at the side seams. Thanks |

Do you have a VW or a Fiber Jet? They mount differently I think.
I am going to put my hard top I bought from Gary G up in the classifieds. We bought a soft top and I have no where to store the hard top at. |

my hard top on my '74 has two holes on the sides towards the rear that fit over two pins on the body when the top is "stretched". there are two rubber holddown on the rear but both of mine are brokes and dont cause any problems so far. and there are two cam lock latches on the windshield...thats it ...how that helps... |

I have been trying to find some pics I have of a stock top. I think there is a clamp that works off the tie mounts on the inside rear.
The front has a pin on each side and the clamps.
My fiber jet top has holes that use the convertable top pivots. |

That sounds like the Fiberjet top. All fastening of a VWOA top is done on the inside.
The VWOA top used the stock latchhooks on the windshield, side supports that bolt into the doorposts and (IIRC) 5 angle brackets under the glasss (1 on each side, 3 across the back) for bolting on to the inside of the vehicle. You can see the pre-threaded holes (8mm?) all around the inside "rim" although they may have black plastic filler caps that can be removed.
