LOL, if that doesn't cook itself from the Porsche fan, it will from all the hot air it sucks back in. Laughing

No reserve - it goes for what is goes for. You pay bid price + 8% buyer's premium, taxes, and shipping. You can bid online, in person, or over the phone. Record BJ Thing sale was $38K 2 years ago.

Them's the facts, Jack! Good luck!

I wish Goodyear still made those tires. Sweet tread, good wearing tire. Anyone know what size those are?

Too bad they did not have any pictures of the bed. I would like to see what they did with that. tj

It is cool but I would no way trade the real thing in same shape and same power for it. That exhaust and cooling wont work together like mentioned above. I would have outputted it in front of the rear tire on the passengers side.

it is a bit of an abortion.

pretty when you glance at it, but the more i look at it the more i find wrong.

why would put heater boxes on an engine with a porsche shroud? what happened to the engine bay sheet metal? i also HATE seeing things without the engine protection plates, after all this is supposed to be am "offroad" style thing. use the freakin' engine plates, that's what they are for.

look at the cheesy full flow setup, wormdrive clamps and all. crap.

the proportions of the hartop are also awful, the area behind the window opening is far too heavy. look at the gap line of the hood, how it gets much wider towards the front. the rear behind the wheels is very nicely handled, but the body creases should have continued behind the wheel instead of that expanse of flat metal. tome the styling is partly a hit, motly a miss. a cool idea, well built body work but poorly designed.

Wasn't there an aftermarket product available that was like this top? I seem to recall seeing one on eBay or in a classified somewhere when I first bought Ted in 2002. Mind you there were still 4 doors and a back seat (folded down I imagine was the intention) but it was basically this top and it was removable

Maybe that was the basis for this mod.

I agree that there should be an extension of the rib behind the rear wheel.

Yes, The Thing Shop offered a fiberglass top and toneau cover. basically you would fold down the rear seats and the toneau cover would run from the cabin top to the rear of the car and hook to the rear covertible U clips. I think I dated myself with that info :)

The empi valve covers don't exactly inspire confidence either.

At first glance I liked everything but the area behind the rear wheels, but I agree with all the other problems mentioned above as well as there are no side curtains in any of the pictures so I wonder how well those fit. If someone made one of these that was better engineered I wouldn't mind picking one up but I'm sure it will auction off for way more than I'd pay for a better built one anyway.

They (and the exhaust) look ceramic coated.
