I was surfing through the forums and found a photo of PJ-181's '77 Thing:
Is that "VW-181" script original or an after-market add on? I like it... If it weren't for the VW logo on the front of our Things, not many people would know what they are. |

I've never seen that before, but it's a cool script for sure. |

The answer is no.
I sold this sticker to PJ-181.
This one (above) was also available like the short one in black, grey or white.
These stickers came from the guy of Schenectady.

I bought a more modern VW circle emblem on ebay and bolted it over the hole in the rear bumper where the hand crank would go so people would know what it was. I tried with an old vw circle and the "volkswagen" in the same script as what you've got there, but I couldn't figure out how to attach it. Plus, that was the only place where there was already a hole on the back, and I wasn't about to start drilling. _________________ You get what you get, and you don't throw a fit.

I used a script "volkswagen" from old split bus rear hatch. More period for a thing and looked perfectly. _________________
