Hello there. I always wanted a Thing, and finaly found a good deal. A 1976 military model from W. Germany. The blinkers, horn and heater don't work. (The wiper motor runs GRRREAT!) I looked under the dash for the fuses and found 2 boxes, one on either side of the steering column. Does anyone have any clues on what fuse is what?
Thank you,
joel. |

One is a 10 fuse panel (for "normal" electrics such as headlights, taillights, wiper motor, etc.). The 8 fuse panel (right side of steering column) is for the military "Blackout" lights; the three on the back deacklid (round with small center red light), and the two square lights located on the front bumper. There was also the Military police rotating light and "wee waa" horns, and the radio equipment on radio equipped 181's.
I have the German Military Owners manual that has the definitions for all the fuses (written in German). I've translated them. I plan to provide all of this to Kubalmann so he can add it to the CD he provides.
What a nice guy that Kubalmann is huh? |
