I just picked up some American Eagle (Eagle Alloys) Repro Fuchs and I am now in need of some center caps. They look to be made around 1997. Anyone know where I might be able to find some?
I have read that there are ring backed caps and 3-prong caps. I would figure that these would take the earlier 3-prong caps but will they fit?
What size hole do the caps that are available fit? What is the diameter of a real Fuchs alloy center hole? I measured the diameter of the hole and it is around 72MM which I guess would be the center bore spec on the box that I listed below.
Here are the specs that are on the boxes:
Brand: American Eagle Alloy
Finish: Polish (but they are chrome)
Size: 15x6
Bolt pattern: 5 on 130
Offset: 1 7/16 POS
Center Bore: 72.64 MM

I've been keeping an eye out there as well as ebay. I'm just not sure the originals fit or not on these rims.

If thats the rim in question, the center hole is larger on those like a 'Late 6' fuch, so I would think the later caps with the ring would work, the 3 prong early caps fit the smaller center hole. The 3 prongs might work if you spread the prongs out but thats not something I would do.
